Hunting has always been a sport in my family for many generations. As a child, I will never forget all the quality time that I spent with my grandfather on the farm. The memories of hunting with him will be something that I cherish forever. Hunting was a way of life for my family. At a young age, hunting and being outdoors was something I became very passionate about. As a child and as an adult, I have been fortunate enough to be a part of many turkey hunts, deer hunts and various other hunting trips.
I have tried many calls that are on the market today but unfortunately, I have been left disappointed. What I tried did not perform to my standards, so I thought “Why not make my own call and fool those gobblers into thinking I was a real hen turkey?” With a big dream and absolutely no experience of making a turkey call, I made a small investment in wood turning equipment and set up shop. Over the years, I’ve tried many different species of wood for the pot. After much research and development, I finally perfected a call using cherry wood for the pot and a slate playing surface over a glass soundboard. My preference for the striker is to use hickory. This has been my choice for a call every season and with much proven success.
